From small jobs to large, Calliglorify can provide for your calligraphy and illumination needs.
Documents requiring a significant amount of calligraphy qualify as 'large pieces':
Most large pieces also require illumination. Cost will vary depending on how much calligraphy and illumination the commission requires. Please contact Calliglorify with details of your piece to receive a customized quote.
Calliglorify can provide you with illumination as a unique work of art. Contact us for a custom quote.
Illumination can also be used to enhance any calligraphy commission. Cost is calculated in addition to the calligraphy pricing:
Small Bulk Work
Add pizzazz to placecards, nametags and other small amounts of calligraphy:
$0.50 per small flower or other motif
$0.40 per small flower or other motif
Illumination on your document gives extra impact. Cost for illumination is a flat fee per document depending on the amount of illumination required:
several small flowers on document
art in a single corner
art in two corners
one or two illuminated large capital letters
art in three or four corners
three or more illuminated large capital letters
anything requiring about 2-5 hours of work
Any illumination more extensive than these descriptions would be considered a 'large piece' and would require a custom quote.

Illumination is usually a major component of large calligraphy commissions, such as ketubahs or medieval-style scrolls. Cost will vary according to how much illumination is required. Please contact Calliglorify with details of your piece to receive a customized quote.
If you want any calligraphy or illumination work done which does not seem to fall into any of the above categories, Calliglorify will be happy to meet your needs. Please contact us with details of your commission to receive a custom quote.
All calligraphy will be done in black ink unless otherwise specified by the client. Coloured inks are available upon request. Calligraphy done in metallic inks will be subject to an extra charge.
For small bulk work, clients must provide the material (i.e. the envelopes/cards/certificates/etc.). Please provide 10% more material than you require to allow for human error (e.g. if you have 100 guests, 110 seating cards should be provided). Please ensure that the material provided can take ink properly - highly textured, heavily lined, or dark paper may present problems. If in doubt, clients can provide a sample to Calliglorify for testing.
Paper for medium-size work and large pieces will be provided by Calliglorify: 100% rag, acid-free, 140lb, hot press watercolour paper, unless otherwise specified by the client. Different paper may be subject to an extra charge to cover additional costs.
Clients will provide a 25% deposit before work begins, and the remaining 75% upon delivery of the commission. Deposits are non-refundable. PayPal debit, cheques, and cash are all acceptable as methods of payment. Cheques must clear before work will begin. Exact shipping costs will be at the expense of the client if completed work cannot be picked up in person.
Clients are responsible for providing correct text, exactly as they wish it to appear, in a legible format. Calliglorify does not edit text for etiquette or accuracy. Clients should carefully proofread text prior to providing it to ensure it is error-free. Error correction will be done at Calliglorify's expense if the error is on Calliglorify's part, and at the client's expense if the error lies in the text provided.
Most small bulk and medium-size work orders can be completed in about two to three weeks. Please initiate contact with Calliglorify well ahead of time to ensure your order can be filled for when you need it, particularly if items need to be shipped back and forth. Rush orders will be subject to an extra charge from Calliglorify and, if applicable, an additional charge to cover a faster shipping service.
